The Business Development Executive (BDE) will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and creating strategic client relationships at the CEO, COO and CIO level. The BDE will identify, approach and develop potential top-tier, key clients and lead the sales effort while being committed to quality and a team-based approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement contact strategy for key markets and targets.
  • Build territory plans and manage $2 – 4 m pipeline. Meet and exceed quarterly revenue targets
  • Identify current and emerging business needs with company’s solutions to meet customer’s applications
  • Work closely with company executives in the creation of sales strategy and lead key aspects of the sales process (proposals, presentations, statements of work, contracts, etc.) to successful completion.
  • Work closely with cross functional teams to leverage total scope of company’s products and services
  • Make initial calls to key prospects and develop a strong understanding of key prospects needs, constraints and decision making processes.
  • Prepare sales proposals and statements of work generation
  • Assist in managing the resources needed for new business pitches (presentations, travel and entertainment).
  • Translate ideas into clearly defined action steps
  • Support marketing and recruiting efforts and social media initiatives
  • Provide leadership to the team by example
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum three years relevant business development experience in a relevant space.
  • Proven track record in finding, facilitating and closing new business prospects.
  • Must have well established contacts and relationships in target industries
  • Experience achieving or overachieving annual revenue targets of $2 – 4M
  • Awareness of legal issues related to contract negotiations.
  • Ability to facilitate and collaborate with many departments.
  • Must be self-starting with solid prospecting skills and relationship building with C-level relationships.
  • Powerful listening skills and the ability to understand needs, recognize opportunity and overcome obstacles.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Strong understanding of e-business processes.
  • Understanding of different sales approaches.
  • Ability to lead and drive the creation of critical sales tools (presentations, statements of work, contracts, etc.).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to translate and provide insight from information gathered is also required.
  • Market savvy with well-developed negotiating and closing skills
  • Knowledge of SalesForce, MS Office and other tools typically used in a sales setting
